Check Initial Scan Parameters
Suggested initial parameter settings for Contact Mode are listed below. Parameters can be modified during scanning to obtain an optimized image.
Scan Parameters
In the Scan panel of the Scan Parameters List, set the following initial scan parameters:
- Scan Rate: 1 Hz
- Scan Size: 500 nm
- Scan Angle: 0 degrees
Feedback Parameters
- Integral gain: 5
- Proportional gain: 10
- Deflection Setpoint: 30.00 nm
Other Parameters
Channels 1 and 2
- Channel 1 Data Type: Height Sensor
- Channel 2 Data Type: Deflection Error
- Set Data Scale to a reasonable value for the sample. For example, for a 200 nm step height calibration sample, a reasonable initial Data Scale setting is 300 nm.
- Line direction: Trace or Retrace
- Channel 3 through Channel 8 Data Type: Off.
